Groundhawk

Senior Fullstack Engineer

Preferable Location(s): Espoo, Finland
Work Type: Full Time

Are you ready to build and scale a platform where 3D scanning, geospatial data and real-world infrastructure come together?

Groundhawk is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help scale our web and mobile platform across Europe. In this role, you’ll build production features that connect field capture with office workflows — turning complex geospatial and 3D data into tools that real users rely on every day.

This is a builder role. You’ll ship features, evolve our architecture, and work across the full stack — from React frontends to Python backends — in a product that is already live, used, and growing.

ABOUT GROUNDHAWK

3D scanning and AI-driven reality capture are transforming how underground fiber and electricity networks are mapped and documented. As infrastructure projects scale across Europe, accurate and verifiable underground data has become critical.

Groundhawk is at the forefront of this shift. Our platform processes thousands of scans, creates digital twins of underground installations, and gives project managers real-time visibility into infrastructure projects across six countries.

YOUR MISSION

Your mission is to build and scale Groundhawk’s web and mobile platform — delivering features that seamlessly connect field capture with office workflows, while handling geospatial and 3D data at scale.

You’ll work on a product where technical decisions directly impact usability, performance and real-world outcomes on construction sites.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Deliver new features across our React / TypeScript web portal and mobile application
  • Build real-time collaboration workflows between field teams and office users
  • Develop and evolve backend services using Python (Flask) and Node.js, including API architecture
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines for large-scale geospatial and 3D point cloud data
  • Integrate with customer systems and contribute to MLOps and processing frameworks
  • Optimize performance, reliability and scalability across the platform
  • Collaborate closely with ML engineers on processing pipelines and user-facing features
  • Participate in architecture decisions and mentor other engineers

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React for modern web applications
  • Experience with Python backend development, microservices and RESTful API design
  • Comfort working with PostgreSQL and relational data models (PostGIS is a plus)
  • Experience with AWS, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • A track record of shipping production software that real users depend on
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
  • Fluency in English

It is considered a strong advantage if you have:

  • Experience with geospatial, GIS or mapping technologies
  • Familiarity with 3D data, point clouds or spatial visualization
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot) — we use these daily

WHY GROUNDHAWK

  • Technically interesting problems spanning sensor fusion, 3D reconstruction, spatial intelligence and ML pipelines
  • Real-world impact — your code runs on construction sites building infrastructure that powers communities
  • A VC-backed startup with product–market fit, real revenue and strong growth ambitions
  • Opportunities to grow your role: lead the mobile platform, shape the API ecosystem, or deep-dive into ML pipelines
  • A highly capable team with a low-hierarchy culture and close collaboration across roles
  • Remote-first and async by default — we trust you to manage your time and deliver results
